The route of the ‘Interactive giant map’ of the Diputación de Málaga has arrived this Friday at Avenida del Mar in the Costa del Sol town of Marbella, being a technological tool that allows consult various tourist services of the western Costa del Sol region, as announced by the third vice president and deputy for Transparency, Open Government and Corporate Social Responsibility, Francisca Caracuel.
This has been highlighted by the provincial representative in a visit he made today to this pedagogical and playful tool, where she has been accompanied by the councilor for Economic Development and SMEs, Employment, Innovation and New Technologies of the Marbella City Council, Cristóbal Garre, considering the city as the head of the Costa del Sol region.
During his visit, Caracuel highlighted “the importance of Marbella in the economic machinery of the province of Malaga, since the municipality is a brand of tourism excellence known worldwide.
The region of the Costa del Sol is made up of 9 municipalities such as Benahavís, Benalmádena, Casares, Estepona, Fuengirola, Manilva, Mijas, Torremolinos and Marbella. “The latter it has almost 148,000 inhabitants, being the second most populated town after Malaga capital”, he pointed out.
The interactive map is a tool in which you can consult many of the tourist services that the Costa del Sol has as the 8 marinas and fishing ports in Manilva, Esteponathe 4 that Marbella, Fuengirola and Benalmádena have, which move a significant volume of business not only due to the companies that are generated around it but also due to the berths of ships from any part of the planet, in which it is a benchmark.
In it, reference is made to the rich heritage of archaeological sites the Western Costa del Sol and the Protected Designation of Origin for raisins, shared with the Axarquia, in the Moscatel de Málaga and Moscatel de Alejandría varieties. As Caracuel explained, “the map will be installed in the center of Marbella until 8:00 p.m. with the idea that the largest number of people can know the most mythical places of the Costa del Sol, making a virtual path through the region. Not only are the 9 municipalities available, but the dimensions of the map make it possible in a single day to know the most outstanding of the 103 municipalities of the province”, he added.
