
The City Council will offer this month of November a wide program of activities around the celebration of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women which has been presented today by the councilors for Social Rights and Social Policies of San Pedro Alcántara, Isabel Cintado and Begoña Rueda, respectively. Cintado has indicated that “it is a proposal based on the slogan ‘Against gender violence, all women, all rights, every day’ because we want to raise awareness and sensitize the population about the need to fight together and permanently against to this terrible social scourge.
The calendar of activities will start on the 9th with the reading of poems ‘For a culture of peace against gender violence’, organized by the Association of University Women of Marbella (AMUM) within the framework of the program ‘Panama on the bicentennial’, which can be followed online on the collective’s own website.
On the 10th, Radio Televisión Marbella will broadcast an interview, starting at 12:20 pm, with the author Pilar Mármol about her ‘Illustrated guide on feminism, micromachisms and myths around gender roles and stereotypes’. On the 11th it will be offered a round table and talk-colloquium on women and asylum organized by the program that the Red Cross develops in this area and which will include technicians from the entity and the actual testimony of a woman in this situation. The proposal is aimed at students of Audiovisual Training Studies at IES Guadalpín and will take place from 12.00 to 13.00 in the Blue Room of the Adolfo Suárez Congress Center. On the 12th it will be held, at 1.30 pm in the same venue, the first coordination meeting of the II Strategic Plan for Gender Equality in the educational field, aimed at professionals in this field in the municipality.

On the 19th, the filmmaker and director of Red Cross projects, Amanda Gutiérrez, will give a talk at IES Guadalpín for Audiovisual students about women in vulnerable situations.
