The City Council of the Malaga municipality of Marbella has started the construction of a new healthy leisure area with three petanque courts in Las Chapas.
The mayor, Ángeles Muñoz, has met this week with residents of the area to inform them about the project together with the councilor for the branch, Diego López, and has assessed that “we continue our commitment to this district with an outdoor installation, which will have with an area of more than 700 square meters and that it will improve the quality of life of the residents, especially the elderly”.
Muñoz has specified that the equipment “will be located on a plot behind the Mayor’s Office that was not used and that is now being valued” and underlined that “these are initiatives that respond to the needs of the more than 15,000 people who live in this area of the municipality”.
The works have an expected completion time of month and a half and contemplate a comprehensive conditioning with lighting and water pipes for the installation of a fountain, the City Council has indicated in a statement.
In addition, they will be placed around 540 square meters of artificial grass and the recreation space will also include four chess tables and two picnic tables, as well as four bio-healthy machines for sports.
The councilor has indicated that all the elements will be included in a closed area by means of a fence to prevent unauthorized access and ensure security.
Finally, Muñoz recalled that “in the last year ten large-scale actions have been carried out in Las Chapas and the obras of the new health center and a municipal swimming pool“.
