The city of Marbella will celebrate this Friday, August 12, the Youth Day with an institutional act that will take place in the morning from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Parque de la Constitución, an event that will include the performance by DJ Mike Sierra and El Duende Callejero on Boulevard Pablo Ráez from 9:00 p.m., as reported on Monday by the councilor for the branch, Enrique Rodríguez.

The mayor has presented today the activity program designed on the occasion of this anniversary and has stressed that precisely the European Commission has designated 2022 as the European Year of Youth “with the aim of empower, encourage and enrich the collective with new opportunities and that they assume an increasingly active role in society”.

Rodríguez has advanced that during the morning act recognitions will be granted to local people and institutions who have stood out in different disciplines such as associationism, culture, sports or entrepreneurship “to show that youth in a positive way and visualize that there are models to follow” and he recalled that “it is the third year that we have organized activities to celebrate this day, but this time featuring that appeal from the European Parliament to the member states, regional and local authorities, youth organizations and young people themselves so that special relevance is given to this group and the European resources to which they have access are disclosed”.

The celebration will begin with the institutional act in the Parque de la Constitución, at 11:00 a.m., which will include a training part by Juan de Lucas, Coordinator of the International Area and the Erasmus+ Project and member of the Arrabal Association, “which works for the social and labor incorporation of the most vulnerable people”, as well as with the intervention of various young people who have participated in community initiatives.

Likewise, there will be the reading of the manifesto around the European Year of Youth carried out by representatives of the different associations of the Marbella sector, “which now more than ever will vindicate European values ​​among local youth”, Rodríguez affirmed. The appointment will be completed with different musical performances with local artists such as Fer Martín, a singer-songwriter who has been writing songs since he was 16 and who has recently released two singles for all digital platforms, or the youth rock band DITS, made up of young artists from the city.

In the afternoon, the councilor has detailed that it will be the moment “of the most playful and festive part where will unite music with youth again” and has pointed out that finally the concert, with free admission, will take place on Boulevard Pablo Ráez. The activity will begin at 9:00 p.m. with the Local DJ Mike Sierrawhich will give way at 10:00 p.m. to the performance of the Cordovan group ‘El Duende Callejero’, which became known in 2018 through its participation in the television program Factor X.
