The City Council of Marbella will deploy more than 300 troops from different bodiesamong them 230 local police officers to reinforce the ordinary service in the city and the video surveillance cameras to guarantee a safe Fair, as announced on Tuesday by the mayor of the branch, José Eduardo Díaz.
This was indicated by the councilor during the coordination meeting with all emergency services held today as the culmination of the round of meetings in recent weeks, that both the venues during the day (Avenida del Mar and Alameda) and at night (concert and attraction area) are going to be supervised by the imaging device and they will have focal points.
In this case, with fifty Civil Protection volunteers at the head of the same, as indicated by the mayor, who has detailed that the “extra” agents” that will be added come from different units, “the uniformed, plainclothes, with the canine and cavalry units.”
“We are also going to have our new intervention unita special group for these crowd control situations, an extra health service with ambulance support and the presence of a permanent unit of the Fire Department at the Day Fair to guarantee tranquility in the bar area, as well as operators from Operational Services and the Traffic unit”, Díaz stressed.
In this regard, he underlined that those more than 300 troops you have to add the reinforcement of the National Police, “That they are going to come with UPR units (Prevention and Reaction Units).”
The councilor has maintained today the coordination meeting with the commissioner of the National Police of Marbella, Enrique Lamelas; the head of the Marbella Local Police, Javier Martín; hehFaith of Emergencies and Civil Protection, Jesús Eguía; the firefighter, Medardo Tudela, and representatives of the areas of Festivities and Traffic.
During the meeting, he stated that this security plan “will culminate in a new visit to the fairgrounds days before the start of the Fair” and has pointed out that they are activated and the planned protocols in the event that there is an incident and that “a great effort has been made to make them safe”.
