The Marbella City Council has put out to tender a new Skate Park in the Trapiche Norte area, with more than 5,000 square meters of surface, “which will become a reference facility in the province”, according to the Councilor for Works, Diego López, who has also highlighted the
investment, which exceeds one million euros.

The future skate park is located on a plot where there is a temporary vehicle depot, after Trapiche avenue, Padre Paco Ostos street and the intersection with the A7 motorway,
in the sector known as La Florida. The park, in addition, “is configured as a visual, acoustic and safety barrier between the fast service roads to the highway and the Mario Vargas Llosa school”,
explained López, who specified that “to the south it will be a closed space, while to the north it will be opened to seek permeability with the educational center”. “For this, large areas will be created
landscaped with heterogeneous vegetation of small, medium and large size, achieving a dense screen to meet the objective of isolating the space from the road”, he stated.

“The planned work, which will have an execution period of eight months, will create scattered playgrounds and sports areas and seeks to be a green space that can be used and lived by its users”, has
indicated the councilman, who has specified that the project will adapt to the topography of the land to locate the elements, with three areas for the use of skateboarding and routes and another for vegetation on the eastern edge. Likewise, it will incorporate all the necessary urban furniture and the damaged pavement in the area will be repaired, also replacing the parking lots in line with battery parking lots to
increase the number of seats.
