Marbella has been chosen by the organization of the awards gala ‘New York Summit Awards‘as the venue for its fifth edition, the first to be held outside the United States. The mayor, Angeles Muñoz, and the president of the awards, Ray Cazorla, have presented the event today, which will take place next November 19th in the Palacio de Ferias y Congresos Adolfo Suárez and that, according to the councilor, “will be a great opportunity for the city, since it will show our excellence to millions of citizens of the Spanish-American world.”
The New York Summit Awards intend to enhance and recognize the Hispanic leadership and the contribution of their communities to the world. This year’s honorees include former United States Secretary of the Treasury, Rosario Marin; journalist Vicente Valles; Musical group Il Divo; the singer Pau Donés (posthumously); the Military Emergency Unit (UME) and the Rafa Nadal Foundation.

For his part, Cazorla stated that «we decided that southern Spain was a perfect enclave for this edition and we bet on Marbella, a city that has me in love and that has also given us all its support from the first moment ».
The goal of the gala, which in the previous edition featured 140 million views, goes through “unite the Hispanic American population of the world, in which Spain plays a leading role, with more than half of the winners ”, stated the president of New York Summit.
