The Town Hall of Mijas has acted in 48 urbanizations with the five editions of the implementation of its asphalting plan, which “involves almost all of these urban complexes with an investment of 2.6 million euros”, according to the Councilor for Works, José Carlos Martín.

The mayor has visited this morning the works that are being carried out in the Calypso and Chalets Rocío area, where the investment has amounted to 330,000 euros, emphasizing that “it was necessary to adapt this deteriorated area. During this week the machines will be working to get everything ready for Friday”.

Martín recalled that in 2016 this project was launched through the legal umbrella of the in-kind grant which has meant a leap in quality for the residents of these urban areas. “We have provided road safety to all these areas that had not been conditioned for 30 and 40 years,” he remarked.

The ‘V asphalting plan in urbanizations of Mijas’, which has an investment of 1.6 million euros, began its journey at the end of 2022. “A A total of 15 urbanizations will benefit on this occasion with the project that is now in its fifth edition”, indicated the councillor.

“With this plan we intend to give response to a claimno historyorica by the urbanizations of the town that request improvements in their roads, and with which from the Infrastructures and Works area we have been working to improve road safety in these areas through a series of resurfacing works under the legal umbrella of the subsidy in kind”, Martín clarified.

So, a total of 47 streets will be totally or partially affected adding between them 15 linear kilometers of asphalt. “The works will not only renew the paving but also the signaling of the roads, providing greater guarantees and security to all their users,” added the mayor.

The works affect the urbanizations of Doña Pilar, Ana María, Buganvillas, Calahonda, Campomijas, Chalets Rocío, Cortijo Calahonda, El Coto, Gran Calahonda, La Sierrezuela, Los Olivos phase 1 and 2, Mijas Golf, Miraflores and Playa Marina.
