The Mayor of Mijas, Josele González, has signed this past Friday the local government restructuring decrees, where the cessation of the municipal executive of the mayor, Juan Carlos MaldonadoUntil now, first deputy mayor.
This occurs after his announcement to leave Ciudadanos, on November 22, and on the same day that he has also ceased to be part of the government team of the Malaga Provincial Council, as Europa Press announced.
In this way, and as reported by the municipal government in a statement, the councilor José Carlos Martín becomes first deputy mayor of Mijas and the councilor Arancha López enters as the seventh deputy mayor and to be part of the local government board. The councilors Andrés Ruiz and Mariló Olmedo hold the third and fifth deputy mayor, respectively.
From the Consistory they assure that “apart from these appointments, the reality of the day to day in Mijas does not vary because Maldonado left his delegations in the municipality to go to the Provincial Council from Malaga so the work continues as it was up to now “.
Juan Carlos Maldonado attended the 2019 municipal elections for Cs as a candidate for the Mayor of Mijas and held the position of first deputy mayor. Through social media, he announced that he left the ranks of the orange formation, without leaving his certificate at the Mijas Town Hall nor in the Malaga Provincial Council. As of this Friday, he has already been dismissed from both institutions.
