The Mijas City Council will attend the specialized golf fair ‘International golf travel market (IGTM)‘, which will be held in Rome from October 17 to 20, to promote its offer of courses, digital promotional tools and the five-star hotel La Zambra as the main tourist attractions of the city, according to what the Councilor for Tourism, José Carlos Martín, advanced this Thursday.

The mayor has highlighted that “we are going to international promotion of our brand ‘Mijas, sun and golf’, that unites all of our Mijas golf courses in a public-private collaboration, where together we promote this important sector to put an end to seasonality, as it is a sport that is practiced especially outside the summer season”.

The department already attended last year the edition held in Wales (United Kingdom), where the newborn branding Mijas was very well received as it aroused the interest of professionals in the sector, with Martín pointing out that for this edition “we have the experience of a year of positive filming of the brand, as well as new products to advertise such as the website, where those interested in coming to play in our city can see all our offer, location, information and news in a common portal as well as make reservations online”.

Also, the mayor has valued “the last tournaments played in the locality, where visitors have enjoyed all the tourist offer offered by the destination giving a new impetus to the tourism and sport binomial that is consolidating and retaining visitors in Mijas”.

Both municipalities have detailed that they already have closed meetings with tour operators specialized in this sectoras well as with travel agencies focused on finding good golf courses to players from Northern Europe.
