The Mijas Town Hall has consolidated its promotional action with the eastern public at the international tourism fair London World Travel Market (WTM), which has been held from November 1 to 3, and where the municipality has announced its offer of outdoor leisure and golf, as announced yesterday by the councilor for the branch, José Carlos Martín.
On the last day of the international fair, which took place on Wednesday, the City Council held meetings with agents from Japan and Korea, where the mayor gave them the promotional flash drive of the city. “The tourism industry is essential in the Mijas economy and for this reason we are turning all our efforts to reactivate it. We work not only in the short term, but also in the medium and long, so that the oriental tourist can fit perfectly into this planting that we are carrying out, from which we hope to reap the fruits ”, assured Martín, who added that“ we are going to work to energize the international market to the maximum ”.
The Department of Tourism has prepared audiovisual material for oriental audiences in English, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese and Korean where they are shown a guided tour of the city. “The positive thing about these types of tourists is that they travel in low season so they would help us break seasonality,” said the mayor.
“Our main efforts have been directed these days to attract the attention of the United Kingdom, which has always been par excellence the main source of international tourists to our city and which we want to recover,” said the councilor, who pointed out that “this does not exempt to be able to work with other market niches, such as in this case the Asian one, since the fair is a meeting point ”.
