The Town Hall of Mijas has inaugurated this Friday the park of El Juncalan act that has had the presence of the Mijeña Ana Serrano Lozanobetter known as ‘Ana Cañón’, and which has given its name to the public space in recognition of the work that it has carried out for half a century in the neighborhood, as reported by the mayor, Josele González.

The act has had the presence of hundreds of neighbors of this lagoon neighborhood that have embraced Serrano, which has been presided over by the alderman and the councilor for Infrastructures, José Carlos Martín, and has had the participation of other members of the Corporation, as well as relatives of the honoree.

The councilor has indicated that the proposal to give the park the name of Ana Serrano derives from a proposal made by the “Association of Neighbors of El Juncal”, of which he has highlighted its “generosity and tireless work for El Juncal” and that “he has managed to win the affection of the neighbors of this lagoon neighborhood.”

The mayor pointed out that Serrano “has dedicated 50 years of his life to fight for the future of this neighborhood in different festive and humanitarian activities, both from the neighborhood association and from the Association of the Elderly of Las Lagunas”.

For his part, Martín has pointed out that “Ana is a generous woman and involved with her neighborhood. who has always been and is, despite his age, at the service of his neighbors, which is why he deserves that the most important infrastructure square in the area bear his name”.
