Gonzñalez added that “the municipality has already been considered one of the leading destinations in Spain for coastal rural tourism, in addition to ‘Country Capital 2022’ from the province of Malaga.

For his part, the Councilor for Tourism, José Carlos Martín, stressed that “the rural tourist who comes to Mijas can make a hiking route in the Sierrastroll along the coastal path to also enjoy the sea, delight in the Andalusian white town and its artistic and historical complex, as well as pamper your palate with good traditional food and buy handmade products with all kinds of artisan techniques, many of which are hardly used in other geographical locations”.
