Mijas launches a new children’s area with a 20-meter zip line. It has been installed in El Esparragal Park, a place that has been visited this Tuesday by the mayor of the municipality, Josele González, and the councilor for Parks and Gardens, Laura Moreno.
Thus, he explained that citizens demanded elements of games for the little ones. “The games installed in this area are in keeping with the natural environment and the main novelty is the 20-meter zip line that will delight everyone,” he added.
He has also highlighted the work of the government team in this area, “renewing practically all of the barbecues, the banks that were in worse condition as well as the expansion of the park to the south, all so that El Esparragal continues to be a benchmark for leisure in the province “.
The new children’s area of El Esparragal is made up of a two-seater swing, a multi-game area and a 20-meter zip line that can support up to 130 kilos of weight. Likewise, to cushion the fall of children, gravel adapted to the regulations has been used.
“They have been built with natural materials, specifically robinia wood that adapts to the natural environment to avoid a visual impact in this area so close to the river and with so many trees, “adds Moreno, who has stressed that” the intention is none other than that our children can enjoy our parks safely. “
The mayor has added that this space has been fenced and materials “that comply with current regulations and that comply with all security measures” have also been used.
This project was put out to tender next to the El Barco park fence and the new children’s area of Los Olivos de La Cala, “what will be available soon and that it will be very similar to El Esparragal. “The remodeling of the Parque de la Muralla in Mijas Pueblo is also planned.
These actions are included in the plan to improve parks and gardens that the Municipality of Mijas has been undertaking for two years and which has involved the renewal of rubber, the installation of awnings and the development of landscaped areas of parks such as La Butibamba, María Zambrano, El Limonar or the Water Park.
The El Barco de La Cala park has also been fenced off, as well as the inauguration of other leisure areas for the smallest of the municipality, such as the Hippodrome Park, with an area of more than 2,000 square meters.
