Mijas Town Hall has extended the petanque area of ​​La Butibamba Park, located in La Cala, with a new runway, as well as the creation of another five in the coastal town, as reported by the mayor, Josele González, this Thursday.

The councilor recalled that “in his day we placed a petanque court on the beach It has worked very well and now we have expanded the petanque courts that we have in the La Butibamba park to three, responding to the large number of players that we have in the Cali core”.

González has pointed out that “Every day in this outdoor space, Spanish, English, Irish, Dutch or Belgian, a very large community of neighbors who enjoy this sport practically throughout the year thanks to the good weather we have in Mijas”, a highly demanded sport that will continue to grow in the town with more tracks.

“We have the project for five more slopes on the plain of La Cala de Mijas, which are added to the two that we have very close in the Los Olivos park. In total there would be 11 petanque courts in La Cala”, the councilor pointed out, as well as indicating that “in Mijas Pueblo we have recently inaugurated a court and we are planning one in the area of ​​El Juncal in Las Lagunas, as we have been told. sued the residents of the area”.

For her part, the Councilor for Parks and Gardens, Laura Moreno, stressed that petanque has become “a very nice way to meet and socialize for our eldersthey come here and spend a very fun morning and afternoon with friends, what happened is that the slopes that were in La Butibamba Park soon became too small for the volume of neighbors who practice this sport every day”.
