The Town Hall of mijas has launched the ‘I plan for the safety and protection of secondary roads’, which will gradually improve the secondary road safety and to which a municipal investment of 60,000 euros will be allocated, as announced this Wednesday by the Councilor for Operational Services of Mijas, José Carlos Martín.

The mayor has highlighted that this municipal initiative will involve a total of 600 linear meters of new biondas, stating that “we have started by valtocadowhere we have placed 350 linear meters divided into six different sections”.

“In this rural area there are very tight curves and when it rains, the road is more dangerous, for this reason we wanted to start installing the guardrails in this area of ​​action”, pointed out Martín, who added that “after finishing in this location, the operators will move to Campo Mijas, Entrerríos and La Cala”.

The mayor has reported that “The investment earmarked for this plan amounts to 60,000 euros”, approximate amount that is expected to be maintained over time for this purpose in the different financial years.

In this way, and as reported by the councilor, not only new guardrails will be installed, but also those that are very deteriorated will be replaced. “The municipal technicians are going to study these secondary roads with a double objective, on the one hand, detect curves, sections or steep slopes where it is necessary to install new guardrails, and on the other, noting which ones are most damaged in order to replace them”, he concluded.
