The Fair in honor of the patron saint of Mijas, the Virgen de la Peña, will be celebrated from September 6 to 11 after two years without celebrating due to the pandemic, a local festival will have another day of programming as in the 2019 edition, as announced on Monday by the mayor, Josele González.
The councilor from Mijas has highlighted that “these festivities will be inaugurated on Tuesday, September 6 and will last until Sunday the 11th”, underlining that “the 8 will be a holiday in our town for being the day of our perpetual mayorthe Virgen de la Peña, who will once again take to the streets of the town in procession after two years of absence due to the pandemic.”
“We are very excited to meet her again and with all our neighbors, in what they will be six days of festivities for all tastes”, González pointed out.
For her part, the Councilor for Fiestas, Tamara Vera, has advanced that the Day Fair will start on Wednesday, September 7“where the best awaits us live music, gastronomy and traditional activities to enjoy with family and friends these festivities that put an end to the season of fairs in our municipality”.
