The Mijas Cheese and Wine Festival will celebrate its fourth edition in 2022, turning the Plaza Virgen de la Peña in the town into the epicenter of good palate between days October 21 and 23.

After the success of last year, the format is repeated, so there will be 16 exhibitorseight intended for the sale of cheese and another eight for wine, and will even be put up for sale products linked to cured meats and sausages. An appointment for lovers of good food that will be enlivened every day by Musical performances.

The Councilor for Public Roads of the Mijas Town Hall, Nicholas Cruzhas presented the new edition of this festival that was launched “with the aim of extending the visiting season and getting the tourists who visit the town on those days and the residents themselves to delight in the best cheeses in Spain and the best wines on the market, and all thanks to the collaboration of the Association of Entrepreneurs from Mijas and cheesemakers from the province of Malaga“.

Similarly, “we will also have a bar to eat from Mijas Sports Club” and, as a novelty this year and at the discretion of the merchants themselves, “we incorporate a shaded area with awnings so that they cover the central part of the Virgen de la Peña Square and thus make the stay of those who visit us much more pleasant”, Cruz pointed out.

This cheese and wine festival will take place every day from 12:00 to 00:00 and its primary objective is “to deseasonalize the program of activities that are mainly concentrated in summer”, the mayor pointed out, “in addition to value local products and the area and help merchants so that during those days of greatest affluence in the town they can promote their establishments and products”.
