The municipality of Mijas has once again reaffirmed the quality and excellence of its coastline with the ratification of three blue flags for their beaches of La Cala-Torreón, El Bombo and Calahonda I-Royal Beach-La Lunaas announced on Monday by the mayor, Josele González.

This has been highlighted by the councilor, who has come today to Chipiona together with the mayor of Playas and first deputy mayor, José Carlos Martín, to collect these awards, where the municipality has also once again achieved the distinctions of ‘Blue Center’ for El Torreón de la Cala and the ‘Blue Path’ for the coastal path, the only one with this recognition in the province.

Mijas once again obtains three blue flags for its beachesa recognition that once again demonstrates the quality of our waters and all the work we carry out from many sources, from matter of first aid and surveillance, cleaning, even environmental”, extolled by González, who highlighted that from the government team “we will continue working along these lines to continue standing out in this matter that positions us as a star destination of the Costa del Sol during the summer period.

In this sense, the mayor recalled that “Mijas is once again a benchmark not only on beaches, but also in its surroundings thanks to this recognition of ‘Centro Azul’ for Torreón de La Cala and ‘Sendero Azul’ for the coastal path”, of which he recalled that “it is the only one in the entire province of Malaga that holds this recognition”.

So, of the 145 blue flags awarded in Andalusia, Malaga has obtained a total of 44 blue flags, of which three are for Mijas. Something that for José Carlos Martín “represents a reward for hard effort that we do so that our beaches are in perfect magazine condition”.

In this sense, the mayor of the sector added that “the beaches of Mijas have become, thanks to the work of the municipality, a reference of the beaches of southern Europeand these awards are added to the rest of the awards they receive on account of the quality of its waters, its environmental care and the offer of services that mark them”.
