Mijas City Council will visit the Brussels Tourism Fair, for the Benelux tourism market (Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg), which will take place from March 24 to 27 at the capital’s Salon des Vacances, with the aim of continuing to promote municipality in the francophone segment, as announced this Thursday by the councilor for the branch, José Carlos Martín.

The mayor stressed that tourism from these issuing countries is the most loyal to Mijas and after the pandemic it has been the main foreign tourist who has trusted the municipality, and that is why from the department we want to continue promoting and offering our tourist offer to maintain the loyalty of the destination”.

In turn, he indicated that the City Council is going to present a “new campaign so that we further expand our brand throughout the Belgian territory”, while stressing that this market has received very positively all the offer offered by Mijas for yearsbeing faithful and betting on a destination full of activities that mixes the environment and nature with its 12 kilometers of beach and the Sierra, as well as tradition and emblematic beauty with its narrow streets and white houses.

Thus, the town is at a key moment to promote its tourist offer with the future opening of the new Hotel La Zambra, former Byblos, which has been an emblematic point for Mijas for many years. Likewise, the department will take advantage of the visit to value its 12 golf courses through the new and first Spanish brand that groups all of these, ‘Mijas, Sol y Golf’, and which also comes to break the seasonality since this type of tourism consumes 68 percent more than the conventional one.

In this sense, and as they have been doing in all tourism fairs, the Consistory will have a nod to the most unique traditions such as Holy Week, which will take place in a few weeks, with a video of images of the thrones of the municipality combining the beauty of the custom together with the incomparable landscape of the alleys of the typical white Andalusian town such as Mijas Pueblo. “We continue working so that our tourists trust this municipality as a safe and quality destination, for this reason we will always offer all kinds of services so that the Mijas brand continues to grow and open borders all over the world”, Martín concluded.
