The Mijas Town Hall will attend the International French Travel Market (IFTM), an international tourism fair that It is celebrated in the capital of France from September 20 to 23in which it will participate with the aim of promoting itself as a destination and strengthening the French market, as announced on Wednesday by the mayor of Tourism, José Carlos Martín.

The councilor has assessed that “for Mijas the French market is one of the most importantin fact the numbers reflect it since France has become our third issuing market of visitors, with a percentage of around 11 percent”.

That is why Martín has remarked that this commercial visit is necessary “if we want continue to maintain the loyalty of the French market provided by a tourist that fits perfectly with what we are looking for, because it is a visitor with a sustainable profile who seeks quality and that takes advantage of any of the segments that Mijas has as an attraction, but especially our beaches and our golf offer”.

In this sense, the objective of the delegation that will come to France is promote the town as a whole, but above all highlight its coastline, its golf courses and the white Mediterranean town “which is something that French tourists are especially attracted to”, and which are one of the reasons why the municipality is chosen by thousands of tourists each year.

Mijas will attend the event, of great importance for the world tourism sector, along with Tour Spain, Andalusian Tourism and the Tourist Board looking for the goal, the Councilor for Tourism has remarked, to “promote our municipality and its benefits and continue capturing potential customers so that in the face of the high season next year that percentage of 11 percent increases”.

On the other hand, he pointed out that the French market represents “a tourism with that interesting profile of quality”, so the delegation from Mijas will not only promote itself in the IFTM itself, but will also will meet with major French tour operators to achieve the greatest possible implantation in this interesting issuing market.
