The Mijeño City Council has once again launched a new edition of the initiative In full light. poetry in the streetin which more than twenty verses by local poets will be distributed throughout different parts of Mijas Pueblo starting next Sunday, June 4, as announced this Thursday by the acting councilor for the branch, Verónica Ensberg.
The mayor has indicated that “we return to take culture out on the streetonce again giving visibility to the literary talent that we have in our municipality” with this project, in which “22 local poets” will participate, and whose poems “will be decorating different parts of our town.”
Ensberg has stressed that this initiative has become “a further encouragement for tourism in the town”, ensuring that “there is no visitor who comes to Mijas and does not take a photo with some of these verses.”
Total, 22 verses that can be enjoyed on walls, corners and squares from Mijas Pueblo and that will be printed on vinyl, to avoid causing any damage to the walls of the historical-artistic complex in which they are exhibited.

The verses from the third edition of Poetry in the street are by Cristian Moreno, Mariluz Burgueño, Ana María Peinado, Carmen Millán, Paco Morales ‘El chaqueta’, Lola Cuevas, María Leiva, Lázara Moreno, Fernando Torres, Lili Blanco, María Mercedes Jiménez, Alicia Boeta, Tatiana Ruiz, Aroa Plaza, María Isabel Gámez, José Moreno, Cristóbal Jaime Barranquero, Salvador Fernández, Laura Martínez, Francisco Alarcón (Corro), Juan Antonio Gómez Alarcón and Lola García. “From here to thank Lola García for her collaboration and coordination with the local poets”, added the mayor.

It should be remembered that the opening of In Full Light. Poetry in the street will be this Sunday, June 4, thus coinciding with the celebration of the XIV photo marathon Focuses on Mijas, in memory by the photographer Jesús Jaime Mota “who will have the verses of poetry in the street as one of the themes to be photographed by the participants”.
