The Marbella City Council has set up a municipal plot as a parking lot on Gabriel García Márquez street in Nueva Andalucía. The mayor, Ángeles Muñoz, today visited the facility, which has 110 places for cars and 10 for motorcycles, and has indicated that with this measure “we respond to the parking deficit in the area and contribute to improving the quality of life of residents.” The councilor, accompanied by the Councilor for Works, Diego López, recalled that “we are facing one of the main challenges that we are trying to solve with our management.”

Specifically, in this plot, of 4,000 square meters, a series of actions have been carried out that have gone through the leveling and compaction of the land to avoid landslides and that could affect the buildings in the area, and then other works of sanitation, rainwater drainage, installation of a new channeling of public lighting, new sidewalks, in addition to carrying out horizontal and vertical signage and the adaptation of the garden area ”.

“Was an initiative highly demanded by the neighbors, to which we have responded ”, stressed the first mayor.

He also specified that “we are making an important commitment to Nueva Andalucía, with different works, such as work on road safety and lighting in a section of Avenida del Prado, at the height of the urbanization of Las Alamandas, the improvement of the surroundings of the Benabolá stream, the widening of a lane in the El Ángel area and the actions that are being developed on Príncipe Salman avenue, also in terms of accessibility ”.
