The Bishop of Malaga, Jesus Catalá, today signed a Decree authorizing the return to outdoor services, which include processions, pilgrimages and stations of penance. The decree is based on “the reasonable forecast of the positive evolution” of the pandemic, and renders the previous one without effect, dated in January of this same year, which prohibited any act of worship abroad and celebrations on public roads.
However, processions, stations of penance and pilgrimages contemplated in the statutes of the brotherhoods will require prior communication to the Diocese, taken by the parish priest or the governing board of the corresponding brotherhood, with at least one month in advance to the date of celebration.
In all cases, these manifestations must respect the sanitary measures and «have the authorization of the authorities competent authorities and the relevant municipal licenses ”. Finally, the bishop calls to «continue keeping prudence«.
