The Diputación de Málaga will award 3,000 euros to women entrepreneurs from the province of Málaga in municipalities with less than 50,000 inhabitants in three different categories through the new call for the first Women Entrepreneur Award, with a total amount of 9,000 euros.

“This award, which has a continuous vocation, seeks to contribute to the recognition, visibility and promotion of companies, businesses and creative, innovative and job-generating activities led by women,” said the Deputy for Employment, Esperanza González.

Likewise, it has highlighted the commitment of the Provincial Council with “the revitalization of the productive fabric of the province, the promotion of employability and equal opportunities”.

For this reason, the first Entrepreneurial Woman Award of the Provincial Council has emerged, which will recognize original, creative, innovative projects for the recovery or maintenance of the traditions and culture of the province, as well as economic initiatives carried out by women to promote and boost female entrepreneurship. and job creation, helping to eliminate the gender gap.

In this edition there will be three award categories, one for the reactivation of depopulated areas in the province of Malaga, another for innovation and social entrepreneurship and another for the recovery and conservation of traditions and culture in the area. In this way, the winners in each of the categories will receive an economic endowment of 3,000 euros.

Companies, self-employed and professionals that meet a series of requirements, among which are women and develop an economic activity, may apply for the Entrepreneurial Woman Award; continue exercising it at the time of awarding the prize; that the company has a female representation in the workforce of more than 50%, and reside in municipalities in the province of Malaga with a population of less than 50,000 inhabitants.

The jury will also take into account, among other criteria, the originality and creativity of the project and that the product or service addresses a specific social need or challenge with significant benefits for people or the environment.

It will also value that the maintenance or recovery of the traditions and culture of the province is addressed, and that it contributes to the fulfillment of the sustainable development objectives of the 2030 Agenda.

The call will open at the end of the month and the bases can be consulted in the Official Gazette of the Province of Malaga (Bopma) on September 5, 2022.
