For the first time, the Red Cross will celebrate a Day of the Little Flag without petitioning piggy banks in the street. This commemoration will take place this Thursday, October 21, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., in 16 towns in the province, including Marbella and Estepona. According to the NGO, this year “the concept changes and will focus on reflect what the Red Cross does to help people who need it most and in thanking citizens and companies for their solidarity and humanitarian commitment.

In this way, the organization intends to thank citizens for the support received during the pandemic. Among the projects promoted by the Red Cross is a plan to serve families affected by the pandemic that he called ‘Red Cross Responds’. Through it, the entity focused on care for people at risk who were isolated, in confinement and in a situation of extreme vulnerability. Through this initiative, the Red Cross has assisted during the pandemic more than 66,000 people in the province.

In Estepona, they will be deployed three information tables in the center of the city, located in the Paseíllo de la Calle Real, Plaza Ortiz and the intersection of Calle Real with Avenida San Lorenzo. They will inform about the areas of knowledge of the Red Cross, and the volunteers will transmit the work of the organization.
