Today Marbella has joined the Red Cross Flag Day, which this time has as its motto #Always with you And it has been more informative and playful than fundraising. This year, the association has not brought its traditional piggy banks out onto the streets and has taken the opportunity to install six tables in the municipality to disseminate its activities and highlight the commitment it has with citizens.
These informational tables have been thematic based on the entity’s areas of knowledge such as social inclusion, employment, education or emergencies. “The Red Cross is a recognized non-profit NGO that has an impeccable work record and does a great job in our city,” said the Councilor for Social Rights, Isabel Cintado, who has highlighted the programs she promotes in favor of elderly, childhood, youth, immigrants and families in situations of extreme vulnerability.
The City Council helps the association through the signed agreement, for an amount of 433,700 euros, to fund the project for the Immediate Inclusion Center for the Homeless. “It is a program started in 2018 that has been increasing with the exercises, with another center in San Pedro Alcántara and the incorporation of a Mobile Social Emergency Unit for Immediate Attention”, highlighted the mayor.
