Renfe will launch the Women Travelers Program next Monday, within the framework of the company’s 80th anniversary, with initiatives such as discounts of 50% for groups of 4 to 9 people, to travel in the months of August and September 2021.
The new ‘Rate 4 or + Women Travel’, which will be available from February 15 to March 8 through the usual ticket sales systems, allows travel to any national destination on Ave and Long Distance trains. Groups must include at least one woman.
Also, from February 15 to March 8, all women who join the + Renfe Loyalty Program will get 100 welcome points. Points accumulated through the program can be exchanged for free travel or for services offered by partner companies.
The Women Travelers Program, which will be one of the central axes of the activities to be carried out throughout 2021 within the framework of Renfe’s 80th anniversary, aims to highlight the company’s firm commitment to women.
The global profile of Ave and Larga Distancia customers reveals a slight prevalence of women. Thus, in 2019, 47.5% of travelers were men, compared to 52.5% of women.
Considering the + Renfe Program, an imbalance is observed with respect to the number of travelers, since the percentage of women among loyal customers is 40.5% compared to 59.5% of men.
For this reason, one of the objectives of the Mujeres Viajeras project is to achieve the equality of gender loyalty data. Renfe aims to attract 100,000 new loyal customers and highlight the company’s recognition of the essential role that the female group develops in society.
