This new fire in Mijas, the third in eleven days, has broken out in the area of ​​La Majadilla del Muerto, where members of the Infoca Plan and local firefighters are already working. From Infoca they have indicated that their evolution is favorable.

The acting delegate of the Andalusian Government in Malaga, Carmen Casero, has activated this Tuesday level 1 of the Forest Fire Emergency Plan due to the evolution of the fire.

The Mijas City Council has reported that preventive evictions of homes have been carried out in the areas of Lagar Martel and La Roza, specifying that the La Cala Cultural Center has been set up for the evacuated people.

So far, six air assets have been deployed (two cargo planes on the ground, a light helicopter, a medium-heavy one, a Super Puma and a Kamov), as reported by the Infoca Plan on its Twitter account.

This is the third fire in the municipality of Mijas in a few days. ESTEPONA AND BENAHAVIS

In addition, there are two other fires on the same western coast of the province of Malaga, which specifically affect the municipalities of Estepona and Benahavís.

Regarding the fire in Estepona, specifically in a place near the industrial estate, it has been declared around 5:35 p.m., as reported by the Andalusian forest firefighting device, Plan Infoca.

Five air vehicles have been deployed to the area, such as a Super Puma helicopter, another semi-heavy and a command helicopter, as well as two Seal planes from the Ministry of Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge.

As for land resources, 45 forest firefighters, two operations technicians and two environmental agents, as well as a fire engine, have been deployed to the area.

The other declared fire, around 6:00 p.m., is located in the municipality of Benahavís, in the Guadalmina river area, and evolves favorably like the one in Mijas.

A Super Puma helicopter and another Gremaf operate in the place; two firefighting reinforcement brigades (Brica), comprising 22 forest firefighters, an operations technician, an environmental agent, and a regional command team.

From the DGT they have reported that the A-7175 road remains cut at kilometer 3 in the municipality of Cortes de la Frontera due to this fire.
