The Marbella City Council has carried out a series of works to improve road safety on the Camino de la Montúa, a 1.5-kilometer-long lane in which the vertical and horizontal marking of the entire stretch of road has been carried out. The Director General of Traffic and Transport, Baldomero León, recalled that “it is a very winding lane, with many curves, which had very few indications”.
“This led us to design a horizontal painting plan and another for vertical signaling, also limiting, according to the new regulations, the road to 20 km / hour”, pointed out the municipal official, who has stated that “it is a a road that has an important circulation of both residents and vehicles that, when there is an incident in traffic in Marbella, usually use it as a detour to cross the city ”.
Among the elements that have been installed in the pavement are: projections and pick-ups, both to reduce speed, the former, and to indicate the edges of the road, the latter. They have also been placed, along 250 meters, side barriers, which are also special for the protection of motorcyclists.
