The Deputy Mayor of San Pedro Alcántara, Javier García, today presented the work that is being carried out on Doctor Eduardo Evangelista Street to improve energy efficiency: “It is a necessary action demanded by the neighbors because the lighting it was very lacking and outdated”. In addition, he has indicated that “it is a transversal and strategic road, because it communicates from west to east, from Guadalmina to Marqués de Estella street, passing through Príncipe de Asturias street ”.
The project, framed in the Urban Regeneration Plan, is being undertaken by a local company and It is scheduled to end in mid-November.
García has detailed that in a section of 200 meters in length, between Príncipe de Asturias and Marqués de Estella streets, “the old lighting is being replaced by LED technology and, in addition, pipes are being installed that will allow modernizing the electric station with the creation of a new command center ”. Specifically, they will be placed a total of 20 streetlights with their corresponding shaft and the location of those on the north sidewalk will be changed “because it has very dense vegetation that reduces light.” “It is a performance that reduces electricity billing and carbon dioxide emissions by 33% and it reflects the commitment of this government team to sustainability ”, he declared.
The deputy mayor has advanced that the energy efficiency program that is being developed in San Pedro also includes the replacement by LED technology in the surroundings of the new health center and the next projects that are going to be undertaken on Avenida del Mediterráneo and in the roundabout of the boulevard to renew the lighting.
