The population center of San Pedro Alcántara, in Marbella, has inaugurated its patron saint festivities with the Arenal duo as town crier, as well as the bars installed at the Day Fair in the new Finca de la Caridad enclosure have opened this Tuesday, as reported by the mayor, Ángeles Muñoz.
Thus, the councilor has been in charge of opening the Day Fair of San Pedro Alcántara accompanied by members of the Municipal Corporation, where she has encouraged neighbors and visitors to enjoy “with joy and responsibility” of the festivities, highlighting the security and cleaning devices, with 120 and 60 troops respectively “who will monitor and maintain order during the festive days”.
The first mayor has underlined “the good reception” that the new space has had, “that was born with a vocation for continuity and as multipurpose place to host different events also throughout the year.
The Arenal Duo was in charge of proclaiming the local festivity on Monday night with a relato loaded with music, anecdotes and experiences at partieswhere Pedro Ortiz and Paco Mancilla pointed out that the act “has been one of the most beautiful of our career”.
“Preaching the San Pedro Fair is an honor and a great responsibility”, indicated the two components of the duo, who confessed that “music has allowed us to privilege during these years of meeting people who are not available to everyone”.
Ortiz and Mancilla also put music to their story, with a pasodoble dedicated to San Pedro Alcántara and a theme about his 30-year musical career. “We have grown older but we keep the same enthusiasm as always”, underlined the two members of the group, who qualified the sampedreños of “simple, hospitable and open people”.
The opening day, which included the presence of the mayor, Ángeles Muñoz; of the deputy mayor of San Pedro, Javier García, and different authorities of the Municipal Corporation, was completed with a session of fireworks, the inauguration of lighting and the imposition of bands and coronation of the queens and ladies of the parties.
The councilor stated that “it is a important day for the city, after two years of pandemic and inaugurating a fairground that is the result of everyone’s work to recover what was looted from us”. Muñoz thanked all the people involved in the organization of the Fair and encouraged those present to enjoy “an unforgettable week”.
In the acknowledgments sectionwere crowned in the senior section Paqui Cuevas Rivera and Manuel Moritofrom the San Pedro I Active Participation Center and María del Rosario Muñoz Valdés and Antonio Moreno Valdés, from San Pedro II, while the Popular Queen of this fair is Guillermina Álvarez Benítez.
For its part, it they imposed the bands on the misses Candela Doña Jiménez, Paula Olvera Perea, Daniela Heredia Peña; to the children’s ladies Ainara Gutiérrez Naranjo, Brianna Isabella Medina Padilla, Lucía Valle Calvente and Marta Quintana Bandera. While the young ladies are Anabel Postigo Domínguez, Claudia Ortega Guerrero and Natalia Llanes Sarrión.
The child coronation fell on Martina Parra Gonzálezin the female category, and in Cayetano Calvente González, in the male category, while in youth was crowned Lucía Guerrero Mancilla. Lastly, she also received her sash Nayara Márquez Blanco as Miss Congeniality.
