A second person has been arrested by agents of the National Police for their alleged involvement in the shooting that took place last night at the Opium nightclub -located in the municipality of Marbella- in which five individuals were injured, two of them remaining in serious condition.

The events happened around one in the morning on Monday. Apparently, there was a dispute that triggered shots. Five people were transferred to the Costa del Sol hospital, of which four had gunshot wounds. Among them, a man of Irish nationality and a woman, both 32 years old, who remain admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with a “serious” condition and “waiting for evolution”, according to health sources. The woman presents “traumatism in the abdominal and pelvic areas” and yesterday, Sunday, when she was admitted, she was “operated on surgically”; while, the man suffers a “thoracic trauma by firearm”.

Another of those admitted, aged 18, was wounded by a “gunshot to the left hip.” The fourth is 36 years old and has a “gunshot wound to the back.” The condition of both “is not serious” and are “waiting for evolution and testing”.

The fifth of the wounded is the presumed author of the shots. Apparently, he continues to be admitted to the hospital, detained and in police custody. The alleged perpetrator is 40 years old and presents “different stab wounds on the forehead, neck, back and one eye.” In principle, his condition “is not serious, but it is pending evolution and more tests,” according to the same sources.
