The smoke from the Sierra Bermeja fire reached yesterday until coasts of Algeria, after crossing the alboran sea, pushed by the strong west winds. The approximate distance in a straight line from the Costa del Sol to the Algerian coast is about 700 kilometers.
During the day yesterday Thursday, the sky remained gray throughout the Costa del Sol, with a large amount of ashes in the air, which have been deposited in the surrounding populations. The winds reached gusts of 27 kilometers per hour in the Estepona area, according to data from AEMET.
