The Association of Relatives of Alzheimer’s Patients of Mijas (AFA), has announced this Friday the ruling of the literary contest, a nationwide contest that was born with the aim of giving a greater visibility to this disease through letters, as reported by the mayor, Josele González.
The councilor has thanked “the more than 60 participants who have opted for this contest such a special literary event in which we not only give visibility to the disease, but also make the residents of Mijas aware of the important work that this association of relatives of Alzheimer’s patients does”.
In this edition the jury has been made up of the local writer Cristina Núñez Rodríguez, and AFAM workers María Isabel Moreno and Emilio Jaime Mogollón and A total of 63 letters have been submitted. The winners of each category have taken three tablets, thanks to a donation from the Los Patios Shopping Center.
In the Children’s category, aimed at children up to 12 years of age, the first prize has been for Antonio García Serrano of Alhaurín el Grande, for his letter titled ‘My grandfather Manolito’. In the Youth category, from 13 to 18 years old, the first prize went to Lucía Cárdenas Soldán from Chiclana de la Frontera (Cádiz) for her work ‘In the middle of an immense sea of oblivion’ and in the Adult category, reserved for adults 18 years old, the first prize went to a woman from Mijas, Silvia Esteban Pazos for her letter ‘Memory is in the kisses’.
