The Ministry of Development, Infrastructure and Territorial Planning, through the Andalusian Ports Public Agency (APPA), has awarded the adaptation works of the Levante esplanade in the fishing port of Marbella for 1,238,405 euros to the company Martín Casillas, as reported this Friday by the director of the organization, Rafael Merino.
This action, financed 80 percent by Feder funds, has as its objective the improvement of the equipment of the facilities of the port of Marbella through the conditioning of the esplanade adjoining the port of La Bajadilla in its eastern area, which remains within the public port domain.
Merino has indicated how “these works in the port of Marbella are going to correct the current deficiencies of the port facilities, adapting them to the needs and new demands derived from port activities to favor accessibility and management of complementary activities that favor the economic and social balance of the port”. In addition, he added that “they will represent a significant improvement in working and operational conditions for workers in the fishing sector”.
The new design endows of accesses, pavements, new lighting network and service networks to the esplanade to provide a solution to land accesses and improve the relationship with the fishing dock and the functionality of the port facilities. The esplanade requires a reorganization of the interior space that allows activity to be carried out around the shipowners’ quarters, which will require their relocation, as well as the parking areas.
Within the actions of this project, the channeling of a discharge stream known as Arroyo Primero, which runs through the port public domain and which currently it presents its channel attached to the breakwater of the port by its margin this. I know For this reason, it will carry out an adaptation in its last 120 meters so as to put an end to the flooding that occurs in adjacent streets and in the esplanade area when there are large avenues.
It will act in a area of 6,000 square meters in the urbanization of the esplanade, 1,160 square meters in the channeling of the Arroyo Primero and 1,782 square meters in the adaptation and improvement of Isaac Peral street. On the east side of the esplanade, 47 battery car parks are planned for tourism-type vehicles, plus an additional one reserved for people with reduced mobility.
