The president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juan Manuel Moreno, has inaugurated this Monday the health center of San Pedro Alcántarain Marbella, a new building annexed to the previous one with a surface area of ​​more than 5,500 square meters and incorporating 40 new queries and specialties.

The act began after 5:30 p.m., which was attended by the mayor of Marbella, Ángeles Muñoz, the territorial delegate, Patricia Navarro, as well as the presence of the health personnel of the centerto whom the regional representative has thanked for his effort during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Andalusian president recalled that the new building implies “a great leap in terms of quality and quantity”, since “in family doctor consultations “we went from 11 to 24, in Pediatrics from 2 to 6 or in Nursing consultations from 3 to 13”. In addition, he has praised that the new facilities include “features that have not been available until now” such as Minor surgery, Dentistry, Mammography, functional tests or maternal education”, among others.

“In total, 5 times more space than the previous center, which went from little more than 1,000 meters to more than 5,500 with two floors, parking, loading and unloading area and all the necessary facilities for the better performance and service for users“, has underlined.

“It is not always easy to get projects to come true because there are many administrative or economic obstacles along the way, but we have the firm determination to update our healthcare”, stressed Moreno, who highlighted the investment of almost “5 million euros that activate a powerful infrastructure from today which is modern and far superior to what existed until now”.

In this sense, he has allusion to the “amplitude” and “endowment” of the new health centerof which he has highlighted that it is “superior in quality for health workers and for users”, and whose updating “reflects the unequivocal commitment of the Board with the Health and with the municipality of Marbella and San Pedro”.

On the other hand, Moreno has emphasized that “with this health center we inaugurate building number 33 of this legislature”, highlighting that “we reached the final stretch” of it “and we arrived with 6 new hospitals, 4 new day hospitals, 9 health centers, 3 new Emergency services and 3 new early childhood care services”.

For her part, the mayor has indicated that the new center provides “40 more consultations”, as well as providing a catalog of services with “Mental Health, Rehabilitation, Retinography, Mammography or Dentistry”, some specialties for which the population of the population center of San Pedro “I had to go to Marbella”, so this new coverage “will also unload the health centers and the hospital” in Marbella.
