The City Council is undertaking a comprehensive action in Puerto Banús to revitalize your image and improve road safety. The mayor, Ángeles Muñoz, today visited the works together with the Councilor for Works, Diego López, and the delegate of Nueva Andalucía, Cristóbal Garre, and stressed that “it is a very ambitious plan that reflects a clear commitment to a strategic enclave of our city and that will be developed in a period of six months, with the aim that it is finished before Easter and does not coincide with the start of the high season and a greater influx of visitors”.

The project focuses on key aspects such as the pavement, with the recovery of more than 31,000 square meters and the repair of tree pits and flooring that were in poor condition, and that will allow remove architectural barriers, renew lighting with efficient lighting and adapt pedestrian crossings.

“We have developed a landscaping reform in the esplanade that is in front of the rhinoceros roundabout, once Carreteras del Estado has given us these areas to be able to take care of them and maintain them in one of the main accesses to Puerto Banús”, stressed the mayor , and has advanced that it is also planned the installation of new urban furniture and the repopulation of trees and palm trees. You have specified that the first phase of the project, which has now been completed, has focused on the replacement of 38 units of ecological islands “Which were very deteriorated due to their proximity to the sea and the restoration areas.”

“We want residents, merchants and visitors to enjoy a more friendly environment that improves their quality of life,” said the mayor, who added that “this action is in addition to the one carried out in the Plaza de Antonio Banderas so that the entire environment of Puerto Banús presents an optimal state ”.
