The courts of Fuengirola, Marbella and Torremolinos They will have extended guards throughout the year after agreeing the Ministry of Justice that the 100% of the staff provide this service throughout the year, and not only from June to December as up to now, after verifying in a study that these judicial districts show a higher workload during the first two quarters of the yearas reported on Tuesday by the Junta de Andalucía.

Thus, this decision, which will also be extended to the courts of Algeciras and La Línea in the province of Cádiz, is adopted after verifying that during that period the high workloads are maintained that justify the measure. In this way, the number of on-call staff is doubled, which is normally 50% of the staff of the court to which it corresponds per shift.

The measure, agreed with the unions in the meeting of the Sectoral Table held today, will begin to apply from end of February in the courts of Algeciras and Marbella and it will be extended to the rest the following month and until the end of the year.

At said meeting, the General Secretary of Judicial Services, Rosalía Espinosa, informed the unions that On a quarterly basis, the data on disputes and matters entered by judicial districts will be evaluated., with the objective of this system of extended guards in the judicial districts where it is most necessary due to the workload. The adequacy of the plan every three months will be addressed with the union organizations.

In Andalusia a twenty courts located in coastal areas They have extended guards during the summer months to deal with the work overload that occurs as a result of the increase in the floating population, the arrival of migrants and the increase in organized crime. Thus, during those months, the court on duty has all its staff providing this service and not just half as usual.

In some of these courts with a high number of cases filed and a high pendency has been extending this measure until the month of December. The Ministry of Justice has decided respond to this union request after analyzing the evolution of the matters entered in these bodies and the quarterly pendency to determine the relevance of extending these extended guards throughout the year in some judicial districts with special overload.

As a result of this study, it has been verified that the judicial districts of Algeciras and La Línea, in the province of Cádiz, and in Estepona, Fuengirola, Marbella and Torremolinos, in the province of Malaga, show a higher workload during the first two quarters of the year to that of the rest of the coastal units. In addition, they maintain a pendency equal to or greater than the one they have in the summer season.

Other issues that affect the staff of the Administration of Justice, such as the increase in retirement bonusesthe call for social action aid for disability for civil servants or the constitution of working groups for the order that will regulate the selection of interim and the provision of temporary positions.
