The Mayor of Mijas, Josele González, next to Councilor for the Beaches area, José Carlos Martín and members of the Local Police, presented this Monday the Local Police Cycling Unit, a special security device that will return this summer to ensure the safety and well-being of the users of the Mijas coast and the businesses located along it.

“Like every year, on this date, we announce the commissioning of this Cycling Unit, which will go along the promenade and the entire area of ​​the coastal path during this summer with the firm intention of continuing to delve into the security, not only of our municipality, our bathers and our neighbors, but of course also, of our visitors”, said the councilor from Mijas, who has abounded in the commitment to the security.

For his part, the councilor for Playas pointed out that “with this measure, what we are doing is increase and add value to our beachesexpanding all those services that we have been providing in our summer period on the beaches of Mijas”, while recalling that “we have one of the largest rescue and lifeguard devices in the province, accessible bathing points and quality certifications that endorse the excellence of our coastline, so this initiative is one more tourist attraction that is added for those who visit us”.

The service will be carried out by a couple of agents from the Cycling Unit, who will lend their services every day of the week from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. until early September. “We are here for any need of the user and of the people who demand our service on the coastal path”, pointed out one of the agents of this unit.

Lastly, the City Council has reminded that this service is added to those already established for the summer season on the Mijas coast, such as the extensive rescue and lifeguard service device or the use of rescue drones for the high season.
