The deputy mayor of the Sociocultural area of the Estepona City Council, Paula Herrera, has made an assessment of the Fair and Festivals 2023, in which more than 400,000 visits to the fairground have been registered from July 4 to 9, highlighting the versatility and spaciousness of the space.
The municipal manager has highlighted the success of the programming and development of this event, which Herrera has explained that during the past weekend a record number of visits to the fairgrounds, which shows that the Estepona Fair has become one of the most important in the province. Likewise, he has assessed the economic impact that this celebration has had for the city.
The deputy mayor of the Sociocultural area has indicated that the various free concerts organized by the City Council in the municipal Booth brought together thousands of attendees. In this edition, artists of different musical styles such as Cepeda, María Peláe, Bertín Osborne or Nyno Vargas have been programmed again to reach the maximum audience.
Another event that aroused the most interest was the Festival of the Elderlywhich this year brought together a thousand people and featured singer Laura Gallego.
Paula Herrera has valued the breadth of the Fair Park, the ease of access and versatility of the enclosure. Added to this is the ease and comfort provided by the car park with a thousand spaces next to the Fairgrounds and under the new Athletics Stadium, which has a symbolic cost of one euro per day for the user. To facilitate access, a provisional car park was also set up this year on Avenida Puerta del Mar.
The start of this year’s fair was in charge of Carlos Moreno ‘El Pulpo’, who offered an emotional proclamation in the renovated España avenue. The communicator, linked to the city for more than four decades, reviewed his experiences in the city throughout a story loaded with emotions, feelings and memories.
On the other hand, fans of the horse world enjoyed yesterday the VI Andalusian caparison competition, that took place in the Horse Walk of the fairgrounds and prizes were awarded to the best dressed horses and riders in each category: Young Rider, Veteran Rider, Couple, Horsewoman and Rider.
Also yesterday, Sunday, the traditional fair bullfightwhich this year featured prominent bullfighting figures such as Roca Rey, Alejandro Talavante and David Galván.
Also, it should be noted the preventive coordination and on the ground of all the Security Bodies and Forces: Local Police, National Police, Civil Guard; as well as Firefighters and Civil Protection. Likewise, the excellent work carried out by the Cleaning, Operations and Lighting Brigades, as well as by the staff of the municipal delegations of Culture and Festivals of Estepona is noteworthy.
