The Fair and Festivals of Estepona began last night with the traditional lighting of the Parque Ferial and the proclamation of the fair, by Carlos Moreno ‘El Pulpo’, a festivity for which the City Council has organized an extensive program of activities with free concerts of Cepeda, María Peláe, Bertín Osborne, Nyno Vargas and Laura Gallego, as reported by the Consistory on Wednesday.

The communicator, linked to the city for more than four decades, made a review of their experiences in the town throughout a story loaded with emotions, feelings and memories.

The mayor of Estepona, José María García Urbano, highlighted “the affection and connection he has with the city” and announced the proposal to the Plenary of the Corporation for his appointment as Adoptive Son of Estepona.

“You have to love Estepona because it is a magnificent city, full of life, and also a city that knows how to love all those who carry in their hearts the essence of this wonderful place, which has known how to combine tradition and future; roots and prosperity” , he pointed.

The act took place at the renewed avenue of Spain and featured a performance by the flamenco group of Lourdes Bazán.

He Parque Ferial began its activities last night, headed by the program designed in the municipal Booth, which will host during these days the free concerts of artists of different musical styles such as Cepeda, María Peláe, Bertín Osborne, Nyno Vargas and Laura Gallego; as well as local artists and musical groups.

This Wednesday, the Fair day is dedicated to the little ones, who will be able to enjoy a children’s party at 7:00 p.m. with the Electroñecos Peque Show, in the municipal booth. In addition, it will be Children’s Day and the attractions will have a 50 percent discount.

On Thursday, July 6, the Party for Seniors in the Municipal Booth, and will be enlivened by the performance of the copla singer Laura Gallego. That same day, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., the amusement area will remain without music so that people with extreme sensitivity to loud sounds can also enjoy the fair.

On the other hand, fans of the horse world will be able to enjoy on Sunday, July 9, the VI Andalusian caparison competition. It will take place in the Horse Walk of the fairgrounds and prizes will be awarded to the best dressed horses and riders in each category: Young Rider, Veteran Rider, Couple, Horsewoman and Rider. On Saturday, July 8, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. there will be a free horse-drawn carriage ride, stopping in front of the Municipal Booth.

Also on Sunday, the city will host the traditional Estepona fair bullfight, which this year will feature an exceptional poster. 6 bulls from the prestigious Núñez del Cuvillo ranch will fight for the top bullfighting figures Morante, Talavante and Roca Rey.
