The mayor of Benalmádena, Víctor Navas; the Councilor for Commerce, Javier Marín; and the Councilor for Culture, E. Pablo Centella, along with other representatives of the Corporation, this afternoon kicked off the fifth edition of the Film Tapa Route at the La Vida es Bella restaurant, one of the businesses adhering to the initiative.
“It is now the fifth edition of this tapas route, which shows the consolidation of this event, which complements the programming of the Benalmádena International Short Film and Alternative Film Festival (FICCAB),” the mayor highlighted.
“The Ruta de la Tapa de Cine, which will run from today until November 14, contributes to creating an ideal environment for the festival, and this year also has a record of participation of bars and restaurants in the town: a total of 26, distributed in the three nuclei of the municipality, ”Navas stressed.
“Benalmadan restaurateurs demonstrate their creativity by making exclusive tapas with names and motifs related to the seventh art, offering an ideal claim for festival spectators and residents to visit the various corners and streets of the municipality to enjoy our unbeatable gastronomy”, the mayor has explained.
“The Ruta de la Tapa de Cine has become an essential event because it comes at a time of year when the influx of visitors to the municipality begins to decline after the summer, so we must continue to show our support and help to local businesses ”, Has raised the Councilor for Commerce.
“This year we have also wanted to make a public recognition of the participating businesses, with the announcement of a contest whose first prize amounts to 500 euros,” announced Marín.
“Beyond the awards, for the participating businesses the important thing is that the public visit them and enjoy the authentic culinary works of art that they have prepared for the occasion, taking advantage of the celebration of the FICCAB, one of the cultural signs of our municipality” , has highlighted the Councilor for Commerce.
“We are already in the moments leading up to the opening of the 20th edition of FICCAB, a festival that projects us in the international cinematographic field, with a short film contest to which more than 1,000 shorts from all over the world have been presented this year ”, Has valued the Councilor for Culture.
“Activities such as this Film Tapa Route contribute to spice up the festival, as well as offering a great showcase to show the quality and diversity of our gastronomy, through a habit as Spanish, Andalusian, Malaga and Benalmadense as it is to go out to have tapas ”, Centella has valued.
