The Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda (Mitma) has awarded the contract for structural rehabilitation works on the road surface on the A-7 Mediterranean Highway as it passes through the Costa del Sol towns of Marbella, Mijas and Fuengirola, some jobs that will have a budget of 6.16 million euros, as announced this Wednesday from the Government Sub-delegation in Malaga.
Specifically, the Ministry will carry out the work between the kilometer points included between 1013 and 145 to the interval between kilometer points 1041 and 230They have detailed from the public body.
The works consist of the rehabilitation and reinforcement of the road surface over the entire width of the road from the trunk and the roundabouts, as well as on the shoulders, the bus stops and the median crossings, the acceleration and deceleration lanes of its service roads and in the accesses to urbanizations. Additionally, the state institution has indicated that in those spaces where the deterioration is greater, the intermediate layer of the pavement will be milled.
The works will be completed with the repainting of all existing road markings in the sections to be rehabilitated and their markings. This action is included within the conservation and maintenance program of the State Highway Network, in which 33 million euros have been invested since June 2018 in the province of Malaga, and which generates a significant boost to improve the quality of service of the existing state road infrastructure.
