The councilor of RSU, Juan Carrillo; and the delegate for the Environment of the Commonwealth of Municipalities of the Western Costa del Sol, Juan Merino, announced today the return of the Commonwealth Mobile Clean Point to Benalmádena, after an absence of more than a year due to the pandemic.
“The service has been resumed, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. at 7:00 pm, every Friday, visiting each week one of the three towns in the town ”, announced the RSU councilor.
Thus, the first Friday of each month will be next to the Arroyo de la Miel library, the second in the parking lot next to the elevator of the Jardines del Muro de Benalmádena Pueblo, the third in the Solymar square in Benalmádena Costa, and the fourth Friday in the rear parking of the Torrequebrada health center in Benalmádena Costa.
The service will also have a contact telephone number: 667 793 097.
“The Benalmádena City Council has been one of those that has shown the most interest and tenacity to resume the Mancomunidad’s Mobile Clean Point service”, Juan Merino highlighted.
The delegate recalled that, in addition to this service, the Western Costa del Sol has four static clean points “so that residents can deposit their materials and belongings in Mijas, Istán, Estepona and Manilva.”
“Through this Mobile Clean Point we try to ensure that citizens do not mix daily organic waste with other more dangerous that may be generated, such as televisions, refrigerators, microwaves, paint cans or X-rays,” explained Merino.
“From these mobile points they are transferred to the static ones, from which the waste is traced to be used for recycling”, he added.
“The Mobile Clean Point now incorporates an improvement: the extension of its hours to the afternoons,” Merino stressed.
“It would not be understood a sustainable development of tourism on the Costa del Sol without it being linked to the selective collection of waste”, has valued the delegate.
