The city will host the ‘Marbella Championship’ from October 7 to 9, the first tournament with a Crossfit license in southern Spain, which will have more than 400 participants of 27 nationalities in different categories. “This is an event that is at the level of our municipality and that promotes a sport that is fashionable and booming”, highlighted the councilor of the branch, Manuel Cardeña, who also highlighted that the appointment “is being promoted by local organizers.
Along the same lines, the general director of Sports Promotion of the Andalusian Government, María de Nova, has stated that “it is a tournament that not only promotes Marbella, but also the Andalusian destination thanks to the participation of international athletes and with a certificate that is very complex to achieve”. In addition, she has underlined that “this appointment demonstrates the importance of sport as a driving force for promoting tourism”.
The event, in which the City Council, the Autonomous Government and the Provincial Council of Malaga collaborate, will begin on the 7th at the Paco Cantos Sports Center with the first of the tests and will continue at 11:00 a.m. at the Adolfo Suárez Palace of Fairs and Congresses , as detailed by the organizer, Sara Echaniz. The program will continue on Saturday, October 8, at La Fontanilla beach and in the congress facility and the final day will be on the 9th, again at the Marbella multipurpose venue, ending at 6:00 p.m. with the award ceremony.
