Marbella City Council has completed the comprehensive remodeling of Perpetuo Socorro, Los Claveles, Virgen del Loreto, Virgen del Pilar and Sagrada Familia streets with the aim of carrying out a complete renovation, modernizing and enhancing this area of the downtown st peter and strengthening its public services.
This has been highlighted by the mayor, Angeles Munozaccompanied by the deputy mayor of San Pedro, Javier Garciaduring his visit to these streets, in which works have been carried out “that have covered an area of 1,900 square meters“Improving your infrastructures, their accessibility, lighting, supply network, paving and street furniture “to respond to the demands of the neighbors”.
In this sense, the councilor has indicated that the work has contemplated an improvement in mobility, removing architectural barriers that existed and implementing a single platform “in which pedestrians have preference, but we also wanted to facilitate the parking of the vehicles of the residents of this area, so we are going to set up a plot, in the vicinity of these roads, with a 40-space parking bag“.
In addition, he has detailed that in terms of the new aspect these streets have been renewed the luminaires existing by others of led technology “much more efficient, which suppose a significant energy saving, it has been installed new signage and urban furniture to provide the area with new facilities, with a much more modern image that reverts to the quality of life of the residents”.
With regard to urban structures, the mayor explained that a Separating drainage network for sewage and rainwatersince, until this work was carried out, “they had a unitary network and a shortage of scuppers, which caused a large part of the water to flow superficially into the surrounding roads, so that, thanks to this comprehensive remodeling, we have solved a big problem that occurred in these vials”.
For this action, the City Council has earmarked an investment of €630,472.92 co-financed 80% by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF)within the framework of the Pluriregional Operational Program of Spain 2014-2020.
