The Mijas Local Police has sanctioned an individual for the stubble burning without authorization in full heat wave.
The events occurred last Sunday in the area of the scattered from the Watchtower. The Mijas Firefighters and Local Police traveled to the area when the burning of pruning remains was detected at night and without any type of permit.
An intervention that resulted in the Police officers denouncing the user for an infraction of the regulations regarding the use of fire and that could carry a penalty of up to 3,000 euros.
Thus, the Local Police of Mijas has recalled the prohibition of barbecues and stubble burning which from June 1st to October 15th affects the town in relation to the use and activities in forest land and areas of forest influence, a period in which the use of fire in any form is strictly prohibited ( barbecues, bonfires or agricultural burning) and the circulation of motor vehicles in these spaces, according to the Order of 05/21/2009 of the Junta de Andalucía.
Given the latest fires suffered in the town in the last month and that have affected hundreds of hectares, the Administration has asked the public for collaboration to comply with the regulations so as to avoid situations of risk both for the population in general and for green and forest areas located in the town.
