The Housing Vacancy Unit of the Mijas Local Police has evicted during the first half of the year fifty properties inhabited without authorization, urbanizations being the most affected areas, according to The City Council reported this Tuesday.

The last performance took place on June 16when the corps operating base received an alert about a occupation in a house in Calahonda.

Thus, agents from the Mijas Local Police Housing Vacancy Unit immediately appeared at the scene, verifying in situ the occupation of the dwelling and tAfter meeting with its owner, they proceeded to identify the individual as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of usurpation and transfer it to the Civil Guard offices for its subsequent judicial disposition.

It should be remembered that last May, the La Cala Neighborhood Board held a security forum with agents of the Local Police and Civil Guard to respond to the main concerns of those present in terms of citizen security, and where the problem of the occupation of dwellings in the municipal term and, very especially, in urbanizations.

With a staff close to 150 agents, the Local Police of Mijas watches over the security of a municipality of 149 kilometers and 91,000 inhabitants distributed in three population centers, scattered and urbanizations.
