The new carving of Our Lady of Bitterness returns next Sunday, October 24 to his chapel in the Leganitos neighborhood, after having undergone a process of restoration. The events will begin at 1:00 p.m. in the Church of the Incarnation, with the blessing of the new carving and its liturgical coronation in charge of the spiritual director of the parish association, the reverend José Antonio Sánchez Herrera.
At 6:00 p.m. the extraordinary procession back to the Our Lady of Bitterness Chapel, located in the José Antonio Pérez Cervera square, of the Leganitos neighborhood, in Marbella. The Arch Confraternity of María Auxiliadora of Marbella the processional throne will cede, and the musical accompaniment will be provided by the El Paso Music Band and Esperanza de Málaga.
Last April, the Governing Board decided to restore the Image of Our Lady of Bitterness, due to the fact that it presented a very deteriorated polychrome, in addition to suffering some structural damage with various cracks and fissures. The work was commissioned to the Sevillian image maker JI said Francisco Blasco Rivero.
The new carving has been made of polychrome cedar wood, with a height of 1.70 cm and will be sponsored by the Royal Brotherhood of the Christ of Love and the Brotherhood of Our Lady of Carmen, Patron of the City of Marbella.
